Biking Clubs

Austin Youth Fitness' focus is to improve biking skills as well as improve endurance and the participant's overall fitness. Bikers will become familiar with bicycle safety, learn the rules of the road, learn to utilize their gears, and will gain strength in their biking ability. Further, participants will likely see improvements in self-image, confidence, attitude, social-interpersonal- relationship-skills, as well as ability to focus on tasks and schoolwork.

Group Structure

Biking Club Structure: ​In AYF Biking Club kids go on a new adventure each week, and learn different routes through their school neighborhood, with the rides progressing gradually from 2-6 miles over the 6-week session. Biking is an important developmental skill, as well as a LIFE skill, and our goal is to help kids discover the JOY that biking brings, as they work to improve. AYF “makes fitness fun,” and so does biking!

Beginner Biking Group: The Beginner Biking Group is for kids Pre-K to 3rd grade who are just learning to ride a bike independently. Kids moving from training wheels and balance bikes will learn to bike on two wheels and master the basics of starting, stopping, and maneuvering, while having loads of fun learning!
